Annual Membership Meeting - November 27, 2007

Minutes of Board Meeting

Monday, November 27, 2007

The meeting was opened at 7:15 P.M. by President Jill at the home of RoseMary and Tom Hopp. The minutes of the annual meeting of October 19, 2007, were read and approved. Bob Sheap gave a concise treasurer’s report and financially, the club is doing well. He made a motion that the books be closed on the Russian exchange. This was discussed, seconded, and approved. Since the fiscal year starts in October, dues are due. They are $16.00 single; $25.00 couple and $10.00 for FFI magazine.


In-coming exchange with Causeway Coast of Ireland is June, 2008. More information will be passed on as it comes in. Diane Maxim-Parsons offered to be exchange director and Marge Clarke offered to help. If no one else pleads to do the job, their offer will be accepted.

Out-bound exchanges:

Costa Rica exchange was discussed. Dates are March 3-March 17, 2008. The first week will be a tour and second week will be a home stay. Jill, Exchange Director, asked that a deposit of $500 be sent to her as soon as possible to reserve a place on the exchange.

Forms for 2009 outbound exchange requests from FFI were filled out with Ghana as the club’s request. Ron Parsons agreed to be exchange director if that exchange is accepted.


The program for the coming year was formulated as follows with Board Meetings on the 3rd Thursdays, and General Meetings on the 3rd Fridays of alternate months:

Friday, December 7—Christmas Party—Potluck and fun. Sam Corety Community Center, 6:30 P.M. Margaret Sickles will be asked if she will coordinate food; Diane Parsons is in charge of entertainment and Marge Clarke will do decorations. Motions were made to designate $50 for decorations and $60 for food—seconded and approved.

Thursday, January 17-Board Meeting at Jill Murphy’s house at 7:00 P.M.

Friday, February 15-General Meeting at 7:00 P.M.; program on Vietnam/Cambodia by RoseMary and Tom Hopp--Sam Corey’s

Thursday, March 20-Board Meeting at Diane and Ron Parson’s house at 7:00 P.M.

Friday, April 18-General Meeting at 7:00 P.M.; program on New Zealand by Marge Clark—Sam Corey’s

Thursday, May 15- Board Meeting at Bob Sheap’s house at 7:00 P.M.

Friday, June 20- General Meeting at Sam Corey’s at 7:00 P.M.; Program –Sister City

Thursday, July 17-Board Meeting at 7:00 P.M.

Friday, August 15-President’s Picnic at Jill’s-Program on Ghana by Ron Parsons

Thursday, September 18-Board Meeting at RoseMary and Tom’s-7:00 P.M.

Friday, October 17-Annual Meeting at Sam Corey’s-Potluck at 6:30 P.M.

Thursday,November 20- Board Meeting at 7:00 P.M.

Friday, December 5-Christmas Party

The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.
