General Meeting - Friday, January 8, 2010
THE FRIENDSHIP FORCE OF GREATER LANSING
SUMMARY OF BOARD MEETING -
The Board of The Friendship Force
of Greater Lansing met on January 8, 2010 at the home of RoseMary and Tom Hopp. No
minutes were read. Ron Parsons passed out the treasurer’s report which
showed a favorable balance with 35 paid members.
No other committee reports
Next discussed were places to meet. Foster Community Center was investigated by Marge Clarke and Diane Maxim-Parsons. It had adequate space but no kitchen. It
would cost $10 an hour. Ron Parsons checked Hannah Community Center which had adequate space and a kitchen at $20 an hour. Ron made a motion to hold the February
19 meeting at Foster Community Center serving only refreshments and a program by Carol Wilson-Duffy, External Programs
Coordinator at Michigan State University. Seconded and approved. The meeting would take place from 6:30 P.M.-8:30 P.M. No alcoholic
beverages are allowed but if anyone wanted to meet elsewhere afterwards, that would be OK.
It was agreed to hold the April 16
meeting at the Hannah Community Center with a potluck beginning at 6:00 P.M. and a Ghana program by Ron Parsons and ambassadors.
World Friendship Day will be celebrated
on Friday, March 5 with a wine tasting party being planned by Ron Parsons and Tom Hopp.

The Dayton inbound exchange
will take place June 2-12 in conjunction with the Grand Rapids FF. Tonya Green
agreed to be Exchange Director.
We will be having an in-bound exchange
with The Friendship Force of Kaluga (near Moscow) in September, 2010. We
need an Exchange Director for this. Hopefully someone will volunteer at the General

the Mackinac Bridge” on September 6. More information at the General Meeting
on February 19.
Jill Murphy announced that the out-bound exchange to Causeway Coast, May 13-28, has 21 people going with members from
N. Illinois, Columbus, Ohio, and Detroit along with our club.
