FRIENDSHIP FORCE OF GREATER
LANSING BOARD MINUTES
Tuesday, January 18, 2011
The Board meeting held at Jill Murphy’s was called
to order by President Sue Hill. No minutes or treasurer’s report were given. Election of 2 offices took place with Nathan Wood nominated and duly elected as Vice-President
and Bob Sheap nominated and duly elected as treasurer.
Carol Wilson-Duffy, exchange director for the Ottawa inbound
exchange, reported that dates for the September exchange are not definite yet and she will be contacting their exchange director. So far, there are 7 couples and 2 singles signed up. Host families will be needed.
Regarding the inbound exchange from Kaluga, Russia, with
Tonya Green and Sue Hill as exchange directors, they are arriving late Wednesday evening, March 16 and will be leaving Tuesday,
A full schedule is planned for them beginning with a Welcome
Party and ending with a Farewell dinner at Hannah Center. Full schedule will be sent out soon.
No updates regarding the New Zealand exchange in November
with Western Michigan was received.
Friendship Force International has “awarded”
our club to lead an outbound exchange to Israel . Nathan Wood volunteered to
be exchange director. More information will be given at the general meeting on
Friday, February 18.
Bridge Walk (2.8 miles) at Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday, June 25 was briefly discussed and will be brought up at the
general meeting to find out who is interested.
The next general meeting on Friday, February 18 will be
held at Hannah Center from 6:30-8:30 P.M. Members will be asked to bring
a “finger-food”. Signup coming soon.
