Board Meeting - April 13, 2006
The meeting opened at 7:55 P. M. at the
home of Diane and Ron Parsons. Present were Jill Murphy, Diane and Ron Parsons, Bob Sheap, Tom and Rose
Mary Hopp. The minutes of the last board meeting were read and approved. Bob passed
out copies of the treasurer’s report showing a balance of $1,635.58. Approved.
The next general meeting is Friday, May
5 at 6:00 P.M. at Sam Corey’s. The theme is India. Jill and Tom will show slides and Ron’s Indian friend will be
asked to participate. Ron has volunteered to order Indian food and everyone will contribute to cost.
Diane will call members to find out who is planning to attend. Everyone is encouraged to ask friends
It was suggested that the annual meeting
should be rescheduled in order to get reports in to Friendship Force International on time. Jill suggested
the by-laws be reviewed .
Discussion of handling 2 inbound exchanges—Nigeria
and Open World—was held and a motion was made to pursue both Nigeria and Open World with Jill and Ron as
exchange directors for Nigeria and Tom for Open World providing dates are acceptable. Seconded and approved.
exchange scheduled for July 28-31 in progressing nicely with about 10 people signed up to attend.
Much talk was spent on incentives for
paying dues. No definite conclusions were reached but it was suggested that a survey be sent to all past
members to get their feelings about the club. Diane volunteered to put the questionnaire together and Bob
will print out the master data base and make address labels. The Board will go through the list at the
next board meeting. Return stamped envelopes will be included and returned to Diane who offered to call
those who do not respond.
Forms are in the process of being filled
out for Atlanta. Next board meeting
is scheduled for Sunday, April 30 at 9:30 A.M. at Jill’s house.
